Pancake day
I seem to have gave in and bought the black pinstripe Laura Ashley shirt I really liked. I also COMPLETELY broke my saving rules and bought a new moss green vintage coat and a black patent crocodile skin effect bag off Asos Marketplace (which I love at the moment!). Although it's getting warmer now, the coat isn't super thick so I've justified my spend and convinced myself it will be perfect for the following spring months. Naughty... but sensible.
Lately I've also been working very hard. After realising that I had done zilch productive of the half term break, I decided to embark on a essay spree to get myself up to date. I've wrote out my history research essay for my coursework and I've just finished an essay on the "Post-Stalin thaw" - all in the last 24 hours!
I've been listening to Bob Dylan's Together Through Life and The Beatles' Revolver album a lot while doing so which has helped me along the way. Its impossible to be unhappy while listening to those albums!
As today was pancake day I bought some pancakes at school and kept with the simple but delicious lemon and sugar tradition!
Now off to write my media essay on The Exorcist and watch the Brits - I wish I was there lots.

New HoH tights.
New House of Holland Letter Tights
I think I love HoH at the mo. Love the Man Alive AW11 collection the most, really want the AW crochet scarf.

Developed disposables and a white latte.
Today was fun. I had a Starbucks white caffe mocha and a pizza from Dominoes with a Cumberland sausage on it.
Following are my latest batch of developments:
And we go back to where we came from
Today I am venturing into town to pick up some photographs that I have had developed and go for a drink with an old friend who's back from university for the week. It will be so good to see him again, as I haven't seen him for maybe almost half a year! I'm also quite curious to find out what will be included in the photos I pick up... I am vaguely aware I took the camera with me on a night out a few weekends ago. Hmmm.

Something good, a little trouble in your neighbourhood
Love & want. I can't seem to justify buying things anymore when I'm going to need so much £££ for Ibiza. Damn you, holidays!

I am currently hoarding a large amount of my Dad's artwork. I have boxes full of sketch books that he did over the course of his degree and previous to that. I also have a lot of canvas paintings that are so big I've had to keep them in my Grandma's garage. I've kind of lost count of what I do and don't own anymore but I'm wanting to budge some of it. Or alternatively, live in a bigger house that can accomodate for the sheer size of them. (This won't happen.)
This is his artist statement from his graduation exhibition:
"My fascination with the countryside began when I moved to rural Leicestershire from inner London, which sparked a long appreciation of nature, particularly forests and woodlands. There is an intangible timeless feel, as if both life and death are at work. Forests are paradoxical; at times evoking feelings of being sheltered, at others of being hopelessly lost they can be a place of refuge or terror.
The collision of modernity as seen in man made forest planted with non-indigenous trees where nothing grows beneath, is in stark contrast, with places on the edge of these symmetrical plantings, where natural forestation, regains and reclaims its supremacy over mans interventions.
I wanted to give the impression of viewing the woods from the inside, as if being in the woods looking out towards the light and space outside.
The artist that inspired me is Caspar David Friedrich, for his romanticism and Monet for his use of paint and surface, and more recently Anselm Kieffer, and Peter Doig."

Need. Want.
Hershey's chocolate; my biggest weakness at the moment. This was last Friday's indulgence. It's obviously been all eaten up now though.
Baking "extraordinaire!"
Here are some photographs of results of my past baking sprees. I need a new recipe book because, at the moment I've lost all motivation! And I can't believe I'm saying it but, I'm quite fed up with making Victoria Sponges. I'm just putting it out there.

| Oh dear... Mum's birthday cake. Ran out of strawberries and panicked. I had to fill the gaps with something; its just a pity it had to be grapes. |
A wet Welsh summer
Last summer I went to Swansea, South Wales and the surrounding area. It rained quite a lot but we didn't expect anything different from Wales! I love a bit rain anyway, so it wasn't too much of a bother...

Les Misérables at Queen's Theatre
On Monday night Claudia and I went to see Les Misérables and Queen's Theatre. I've wanted to see it for a very long time so it was so good to finally go. We bought custard tarts and a slice of double choc mouse cake from Patisserie Valerie (all of which were delish!) and had a last minute Chinese near the theater where we also indulged in a yummy jug of Sangria. The show was amazing, Bring Him Home and I Dreamed a Dream were very satisfying to listen to!
